This research and development building replaces part of an existing building on Hager Campus, which has already been extended through the Taranis project. With a simple volume and emphasis on the horizontal, it establishes references to the Hager Forum across the street and accentuates the sculptural character of Taranis.

The programme combines several departments that were previously spread across the site: Prototyping, Electrical, Environmental and Materials Testing and Metrology, complemented by spaces for co-working, staff and visitors. Thus, the project embodies the company's collaborative approach and promotes the dialogue between research and practice. A compact core and load-bearing façades allow the floor plans to be organised freely, according to use and the required equipment. The architecture's flexibility creates a dynamic working environment that adapts to the changing needs of production.

A continuous hall on the ground floor connects the entrance on Boulevard de l'Europe with the campus. In the manner of an arcade, this space acts as a showcase for the activities inside. Similarly, on the upper and lower floors along the circulation area around the inner core, purposefully placed openings create a visual tour of the facility for the visitors. The entire interior design is characterised by this desire for transparency. In this way, the building expresses an open character from the entrance hall to the roof terrace.

Also the façade reflects this openness and flexibility. Large windows fitted between load-bearing elements create a clear rhythm, while the rooftop floor with the co-working areas is glazed on all sides. The cladding in anodised and textured aluminium is a variation on the façades of the Hager Forum and other recent projects on the campus. With its modest appearance, the building integrates itself into this context while at the same time asserting its own presence on the site.
